Director of Insights and Brand Strategy

 

We are seeking a Director of Insights and Brand Strategy to lead our efforts in translating cultural, category, competitive, client and consumer insights, and market trends into smart communications strategy and well-informed ideas that bring our creativity to life. The Director of Insights and Brand Strategy will be based in our Boston headquarters, but will travel from time to time for client meetings and new business presentations.  

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an advanced digital/social team member with demonstrated experience leading the daily activities of junior digital staff, driving higher-level thinking for client account teams, and a growing ability to help improve digital team processes and operations. A successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of the major social platforms; a solid understanding of third-party digital distribution and content channels; and senior level experience using tracking tools, such as Google Analytics, to aggregate cross channel data and develop meaningful insights, measurement, and performance reports. An experienced content strategist, this candidate is capable of mapping a long-term content approach back to client goals and supervising the planning, drafting, development, and execution of digital content calendars. The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, the ability to balance shifting priorities, and a polished verbal and written presentation style. Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop a clearly defined process for identifying and translating insights into smart communications strategy and highly creative ideas at 360PR+
  • Work hand-in-glove with account teams to define a client’s business problem, identify a solution and articulate our approach to the client
  • Aggregate both traditional and non-traditional research methodologies as well as online data to understand consumer attitudes and behaviors, tapping agency subscriptions and tools, recommending and deploying new ones, and overseeing primary research with external partners
  • Unearth insights from this research and data that form a compelling, rational argument for our strategies
  • Demonstrate empathy by seeing things from the consumer and client points of view that lead to effective emotional appeals and highly creative ideas
  • Actively contribute to the large group brainstorming, small group ideation and individual crafting of ideas
  • Effectively sell an idea through strong persuasion and presentation skills to both current clients of record as well as new business prospects
  • Articulate how an idea achieves a pre-determined result or return on client investment, and ensure that our campaigns are optimized regularly and evaluated at least annually
  • Continually reinvent the insights and brand strategy role and service offering at 360PR+ by understanding best practices in account planning, brand strategy, data mining, and market research

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience in account planning, brand strategy or consumer insights, including at least 5 years of experience working in a PR, advertising, digital or design agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, sociology, psychology, anthropology or a related field of study
  • Curiosity for the relationship between consumer attitudes and behaviors and their preferences for and loyalty to brands
  • Enjoys putting together disparate pieces of information to solve a business problem
  • Collaborative member of highly creative teams
  • Ability to tell a good story in writing and verbally
  • Confident, poised, and commanding presenter
